The Rabais valley, a beautiful day out in the Gaume region | Cycling trails in Wallonia

  • The Rabais valley, a beautiful day out in the Gaume region | Cycling trails in Wallonia
  • Mountain bike ride

Mountain bike through the forest of Virton, one of the most beautiful ones in Wallonia.

The sun shining on the lake, the little chalets shaded by the underwood give the Rabais valley a cheerful holiday vibe.

The trail joins the woods very quickly - you will enjoy this wonderfully intimate, magical atmosphere for 15 km or so. This superb forest ecosystem features a wide variety of tree species, some young, some old.

Along the winding paths, admire how slender and elegant the beeches are, the sun rays playing through their branches. This type of forest resists quite well to the wind, its large clearings avoiding the accumulation of too much snow on the branches.

Leaving the forest, the path slaloms beautifully all the way to Croix Rouge and the Trou des Fées eerie rock formation. From the crossroads, continue down to the estate of the Rabais valley, where the Sentier des Songes (1.5 km), a fascinating, artistic path that can be cycled.
